Open Heritage National Workshop

On September 8 at 3:30 p.m. at the Rugantino Library at 113 Via Rugantino, the Final National Workshop of the European Horizon 2020 project “Open Heritage” will be held. The day aims to foster discussion on the potential of urban commons, particularly cultural heritage, as an enabling tool for the sustainability of territories, not only through the involvement of local communities but by offering spaces, skills, tools and ideas for innovation aimed at sustainable development and improving the social and economic conditions of inhabitants and users in vulnerable neighborhoods. The day will be divided into three panels. The first panel, “Culture as a tool for sustainable and inclusive development,” will introduce the structure of the day and the results of the activities carried out in the ACT territory (Alessandrino, Centocelle and Torre Spaccata). The second panel, “How to Promote Sustainable Urban Innovation through Culture,” will be a roundtable discussion featuring dialogue between different policy makers and stakeholders to understand how public policies can promote culture from a sustainable development perspective. Reference will be made to policies being implemented in the city of Rome that have been made operational through investments for example related to PNRR. The last panel, “Public and Private Finance for Sustainable Urban and Cultural Innovation,” aims to analyze how investors, both public and private, are contributing, and can contribute, to support sustainable urban and cultural innovation projects.
