#1 – Works on the Centocelle Archaeological Park start!

On June 9, the first day of the workshop was held at the House of Culture with citizens and associations who care about the future of the park of Centocelle, assisted by service designer Paola Santoro and staff of LabGov.

Step 1 – Presentations

After an initial presentation of the Lab and its past and present projects, those present became known. In addition to individual citizens there are many associations active in the area that have responded to the appeal of LabGov, among them: the Torrespaccata Committee, Cinecittà Territorial Network (VII town hall), Legambiente, the Cycling Sports Group, the Centocelle Historical Committee, the Social Laboratory 100celle (ex Casale Falchetti), Association 100 and head, the Association Pomerium Onlus.

Objectives of this first meeting are: the identification of the realities that already operate on the Park and the identification/ understanding of the critical issues and opportunities of the territory in relation to behavior, expectations and mutual needs.

Step 2 – Self reflection, values and skills

As a second step, Paola invites participants, equipped with pen and post-it notes, to write their values (those that push them to participate in the Park) and their skills. There are many values that have emerged; among them: sharing, respect for the environment and the community, transparency, sport, integration, sustainable mobility, beauty, the common good, participation, freedom, sociality, legality.

These values have been “clustered” and summarized in the key words that identify the thematic macro areas on which to intervene and the consequent actions to be taken for the redevelopment of the Park. Many competences have also emerged.

Step 3 – The identity map

The Self Reflection method has brought to light the value that everyone can bring to the project in terms of responsibility and capacity by identifying meeting points and new perspectives of the whole group. This step made it possible to build the identity map that went to define the “who we are” and the “what we know” of a group with common objectives and diversified resources and capabilities.

This first workshop was useful to lay the foundations of a relationship of exchange and complementarity between the different associations and between individual citizens.

Appointment to the next day of laboratory scheduled for June 22.
